Now We Know Whose Fault It Is

There are many people out there that are really upset about the new Digg version 4 that seems eminent.  For those that want a little background about where the article voting site is going in the near future, take a look at the new Digg breakdown here.

After signing in to the new Digg, it became apparent that there is a lot of finger pointing within the Digg office too.  Seems about 19 people have some blame to share.  Hope they get their act together here soon and stop blaming each other :^D

Looks as if their math is a little off too.

Order of ownership of fault:

  • Anton: 1.7% at fault
  • Arin: 57.7% at fault
  • Arsenio: 27.7% at fault
  • Bill: 92.8% at fault
  • Chris Howard: 82.1% at fault
  • Dav: 1.4% at fault
  • Jay: 97.9% at fault
  • Jeff: 9.4% at fault
  • Jeremy: 50.8% at fault
  • John: 65.0% at fault
  • Mariana: 41.4% at fault
  • Mark: 97.1% at fault
  • Matt Van Horn: 0.2% at fault
  • Mateusz: 73.9% at fault
  • Nicole: 18.8% at fault
  • Paul: 19.8% at fault
  • Rich: 9.8% at fault
  • Ron: 29.8% at fault
  • Tyson: 91.4% at fault

For a total of 868.7% at fault

That is a whole lot of blame to spread around :^D  Please do not take any of this serious, except for the screen shots.  Those are actual screen shots.

It is not showing you whose fault it is, It is showing you the *probability* that it is that persons fault. There is no proof that the math is wrong.

Hey shady, thanks for the thoughts… It really was all done in fun. Just showing screen shots of all the different people that show up on the the new digg v4 error pages. All in fun

Genius, have subversion, or whatever version control system supply data to the error system to have it work out the proportion of contribution to the failing code each developer has made combined with time statistics as recent changes are more likely to break something, or even on the basis of a line. Then work out a probability that the developer that contributed the most was responsible based on that and put it in the error message. Why didn't I think of that?

LOL … I not quite sure they put that much time into it. But that is a good thought :^D
